Michael, I am so proud to know you and read what you have to say. I especially like the idea( which was at one time was fact) of families and communities helping each other. I remember theses times. It makes me sad to see now that people, young people, depend on government to hand them things and they expect it. We need to teach young ones to be compassionate, but learn how to do things on their own, to be compassionate in their lives also and to help when needed not when mandated. Sympathy, empathy and compassion.

Your comments are not only intelligent, but they are considerate of others and full of humility. I applaud you for your tireless effort to educate those around us that mean well, but have no real understanding of the truly intricate workings of these kinds of economic issues. I think you're missing a calling as an economist! This world would severely benefit from your voice.

Michael, this is a brilliantly written post and I hope that you don't mind if I share it? Sadly, I don't think that many will read, and even fewer will actually question the drivel that is being spoon fed to us under the guise of "equality" and "a better world". Yet with just a little scratching of the surface of these ideals, we find a wicked and corrupt future, gift-wrapped under the heading of "progressiveness." It shocks me that anyone striving for these ideals can call themselves a "thinking man" and I am truly troubled by the future that lies before us.

This is such a sweet blog entry Mike! You really have managed to capture what life around here is like these days. From the first peeks of Spring, to the growing of plants and animals, to the stages of the kids, this is wonderful. You are doing a great job of cataloging these times, much better than I. I love reading your insights. Love you!

I love how excited you are about this machine. And I'm so glad that you waited and didn't cave in and get the commercialized versions that are for sale in stores. This beastie is awesome, and even I enjoy popcorn now! It's like an event in our house these days, or a ritual. You come home, have dinner, and after it's all wrapped up, you turn on the popcorn machine and then the house fills with the smells of buttery goodness. *sigh* It's pretty cool, I have to admit.

This is EXACTLY where I am at right now too. I so know how you feel. I blog as a journal, really. But it's so much effort, and because it's so random as well, it doesn't exactly garner readership. Which really doesn't matter I guess. I really love a lot of the blogs out there that are geared towards one or more of the specific hobbies that I have, like crafting or homesteading. I think, "I could do that!" But then I realize the huge time suck that is, and how I then become a slave to an online community, and I have to step back. I've been in that position before, and while there is the high of being well-known and respected for the body of work that you produce, the stress is truly through the roof. And really, life is not about these things. So...I know what you are going through. We should be happy to just catalog things for our own family, and maybe not even online. Perhaps with photo books, or an honest to gosh handwritten journal. I don't know. But I might not be blogging much longer either. We'll see! Good luck working this out, I know its tough.

Hey! Thanks for the review. We're planning on releasing batch uploads with version 1.2 so it should be within a month or so. As far as price goes, we're currently fighting about whether or not to make available an ads version. Stay tuned!

I've never worked in the industry, so I've never experienced this phenomenon from a developer's viewpoint. But I certainly have seen it in other industries. Often, the business side speaks a different language than the folks that are actually doing the work. They only want to hear what they WANT to hear, and so they force a person into making a commitment that can't possibly be kept. And then when things fall apart in the end...it's the worker on the front line that pays the price. They get burned out, discouraged, and so choose to simply move on. When will they learn??
