Middle of January

Crystal and I have been getting over some nasty colds lately. I am tired of being all congested. Who wouldn’t I suppose. We went and visited some old friends recently who live down in Lacey. It’s really good to keep those connections alive. But before I get ahead of myself, I wanted to note that I am really tired and just wanted to share all these little details before I forget them.

We took my mom in law to a 50th birthday. We chose to take her to the Melting Pot. It’s a fine experience making eating a journey but I admit that for how expensive it is, I am just not all that amazed by it. That being said, if you have a hundred or two to burn up on dinner: go for it. It is worth going at least once to experience some fondue.

Henry’s final baby teeth are coming in. He has been in a marvelous mood ever since he’s gotten over his cold. He is a good teether. The problem is that his cold was making him incredibly grumpy. Crystal has been feeling things in her belly. It seems like those flutters are the baby moving. How exciting. Crystal is thinking it’s a girl because this baby isn’t the jazzercizer that Henry was but you never know. We find out the sex of the baby on the 24th.

Crystal and I finally decided to get a digital SLR camera. I’ve been wanting one for a few years but their price was prohibitive. Our little digital camera does fine but the speed of picture taking along with the wonderful quality of SLR cameras makes them hard the resist. We went with the Nikon D40x. They had the camera body, a pair of lenses, a memory stick, and a cool carrying bag available in one box at Costco. I will post some pictures soon.

I also decided to stay at my current job. It was tough for a while because I was considering leaving for a better paying one but I dreaded leaving this place. The biggest piece to the puzzle we are waiting to complete is refinancing our home. Once that is done I will feel much better.

I’ve had some interesting things come up at work. I have been trying to connect to a server using TCP and I have had some strange anomalies maintaining a stable connection. PHP has some great tools to do this but they aren’t working as I would expect. Anyway, that is a whole long story.

I have been working a bit on my music. I will be adding a new hard disk and maybe a dual core processor soon. My music apps could use the space and horsepower.
